Who doesn’t know “Mona Lisa”?
A remarkable piece of art by the great Leonardo Da Vinci that has inspired artists since its inception!
Ever wondered what it was all about ?
Well, according to sources it is thought to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo! The model, Lisa del Giocondo, was a member of the Gherardini family of Florence and Tuscany, and the wife of wealthy Florentine silk merchant Francesco del Giocondo. The painting is thought to have been commissioned for their new home, and to celebrate the birth of their second son, Andrea. This very painting that has lived for over 500 years is an ideal example of the life of one’s creativity! Its pretty ironic, how the painter or the lady who was painted or for whom it was actually painted are all ghosts of the past and yet the essence of the painting lives on kindling a few other trillion hearts maybe!
